In these chorales I have tried to translate the sweet lyricism of the voices by bringing them to an instrument which, apparently, is given an accompanying role. Exploiting the characteristic warm and melancholic voice of the double bass I wanted, with a new interpretation, to give a new sound dimension to these splendid Christmas choirs.
