Sinfonia N.9 "Dal nuovo mondo", by Francopaolo Perreca

It certainly wasn’t a coincidence that Antonín Dvořák wrote his Symphony No. 9 Op. 45 “From the New World” precisely during the period in which he was director of the New York National Conservatory of Music.

Even if, and it is clearly my impression, the 2nd Movement that I have discussed here gives the impression of widening the simple and earthly national boundaries; seasoned with typically American harmonic elements, the impression is of referring to the birth of a new life, a new dawn, precisely, a new world, and the choice of the cover of this work is not accidental.
