This work aims to analyze some of the many madrigals by Maddalena Casulana. Through the analysis of her passages, it will be possible to trace her thoughts and her strong personality. Casulana is a unique example of a late Renaissance composer, not just because of his desire to compose and release music in a environment that instead she wanted relegated exclusively to the role of mother and wife, but above all because unlike other female composers, she was never linked to a particular patron or academy and she never covered the role of courtesan.
