Ballad in the sound, for French Horn or Tuba and Piano by Edoardo Valente

This Ballad was born from an idea that I had in 2018 while listening to a concert for alto saxophone and piano, the almost jazz style alternates moments of pure interpretative madness with moments of calm and hornistic romanticism. Not at all obvious, the melodic line of the piece, with its lyricism and elasticity, conceived mainly for French horn, happily lends itself to being performed also by the deep and warm timbre of the Tuba.

The piece presents, in the solo part, two versions, an original, more technically elaborated, and a simplified version suitable for a performer who has sufficient mastery of the instrument.
