Fuga in Sol minore by Matteo Savastano

This fugue is inspired by models of the contrapuntal tradition, specifically designed to enhance the homogeneity and timbral flexibility of the clarinet quartet (two B♭ clarinets, an E♭ alto clarinet, and a B♭ bass clarinet). It offers a rich array of sonic nuances, from the velvety low register to the brilliant high register, creating an imitative dialogue in which the autonomous and complementary voices blend within the complexity of the fugal writing.
