Ferruccio Busoni, a great pianist and composer, is today almost remembered for his writings rather than for his musical works.

Particularly profound composer with an idea of ​​music all his own: a music theorist, a precursor of electronic music and inventor of the "New Classicism". From a compositional point of view, he was cautious in exposing his musical theories.

Unlike other contemporary composers of his, such as Arnold Schönberg, Busoni did little to put his aesthetic ideas into practice, limiting himself instead to conceptualizing them and writing essays on music.
